Recently, Wuhan Hi-Cloud Technology Co.,Ltd has successfully delivered the ARS-1000L airborne laser measurement system to the Hydrology and Water Resources Survey Bureau of the middle reaches of the Changjiang River.

 

The Hydrological and Water Resources Survey Bureau of the middle reaches of the Changjiang River is a scientific research institution subordinate to the Changjiang River Water Resources Commission of the Ministry of Water Resources (the bureau is located in Wuhan). It is a professional institution that collects and provides hydrological, river channel survey and water quality monitoring data and results for the comprehensive management of the Yangtze River Basin, flood control and drought relief, water resources development and management, water conservancy and hydropower project construction and other national economic construction in the middle reaches of the Changjiang River.

ARS-1000L airborne laser measurement system can be mounted on UAV, vehicle, backpack and other platforms to quickly generate DSM,DEM and make DLG and 3D models. The system has the advantages of light weight, convenient carrying and high efficiency of results processing. It is widely used in emergency survey, topographic mapping, power line inspection, highway survey, coastal island and reef survey, excavation and filling calculation, archaeological survey and mapping, geological disaster survey and other fields.

Delivery test:

 

 

The survey area is about 0.4km ². The main part of the survey area is wetland and beach, with rich artificial vegetation, including tall weeping willows, dense reed marshes, low and small shrubs, etc. The drop in the survey area is about 20m.

 

In this test, the traditional RTK measurement method was used. A total of 241 verification points were measured within the survey area, including 20 verification points under low shrubs, 97 verification points under tall trees, 71 verification points under reed marshes, 23 verification points on wetlands and beaches and 30 verification points on hard roads.

 

The flight altitude is 200m relative to the survey area, the route spacing is 132m, the speed is 8m/s, and the extension of the survey area is 20m. The scanning frequency is 420m (600kHz), the image resolution is 3.8cm, the heading overlap is 65%, and the side overlap is 41%.

 

Results:

 

The mean square error of the point cloud collected by ARS-1000L system is 3.2cm on the hard roads, 6.5cm on the beach, 6.8cm under tall trees and 8.8cm under low shrubs.

 

The error on the hard roads fully shows that the ARS-1000L system has extremely high precision, meets the nominal performance of the system, and fully meets the 1:500 topographic map error requirement. Under other vegetation types, the mean square error of point cloud fitting does not exceed 10cm.

 

Under multiple vegetation types, ARS-1000L system can penetrate the vegetation, reach the surface and obtain the real surface model. It will play an important role in the development, management and planning of river peripheral beaches represented by the Changjiang River beach.
