Digital management of stockyard, select TLS360 for accurate inventory

How to improve the accuracy of bulk raw material inventory has been a difficult problem for the industry for many years. The normal raw fuel inventory is generally maintained at more than 10000 tons. If the inventory error exceeds 1%, the value loss is more than 10 million, and the allowable error range of inventory is often within ± 5%.

Improving the accuracy of inventory counting is of great practical significance for enterprises to strengthen material management and calculate material consumption.

There is a coal ore pile about 1000m long, 5m wide and 2-3m high stored in the bulk stockyard of a mine. When the train enters the site to load coal, there is a large loading error and some carriages are empty.

Accurate measurement of coal piles is needed to maximize train capacity without being empty or overloaded.

In view of thesituation of the above project, the customer put forward the improvement demand of coal mine inventory management by using 3D laser scanning technology.

The spatial distance information of the measured target is obtained through the 3D laser scanner, and a series of processing is carried out with the help of software to finally obtain the surface shape and 3D coordinate data of the measured target, so as to carry out various measurement or establish model and display.

In this project, we use HD TLS360 mini portable 3D laser scanner for high-efficiency data acquisition.

Field test results show that:

1. The 3D laser volume calculation method can measure the volume of irregular stockpiles. The shape of stockpiles has been changed many times in the field test, and the measurement accuracy is within 3%, which meets the application requirements.

2. From the field work scanning to the completion of the indoor work data output results, the data collection of the local stockyard can be completed in 10 minutes. Using the single point registration technology and high-performance computer, the volume calculation of multiple stockpiles can be completed in only a few hours.

Compared with manual visual inspection, TLS360 can help enterprises realize the digital management of stockyard more accurately and conveniently.
