As a material guarantee, forest resources are an important foundation for human survival, and the quality of afforestation will directly affect the final quality of resources provided by forests. Therefore, we should pay special attention to the quality of afforestation results in afforestation projects, otherwise it will have a huge negative impact on the whole forest resources. At present, the traditional investigation of afforestation results mainly relies on manual field sampling survey. This survey method can only get one result from one survey in the sample area, which is not traceable and evidential. The accuracy of the results depends on the subjective behavior of the investigators, and the conclusions can not be effectively verified.
Based on the PM-1500 UAV LiDAR system mounted on the Fenghu VTOL UAV platform, 3d laser point cloud data of large afforestation area can be obtained. Thanks to the multi-echo technology of PM-1500, LiDAR can easily penetrate the leaf gap of trees to reach the ground, thus obtaining DEM of the terrain. Through point cloud data processing technology and high-precision DEM data, automatic extraction operation of tree parameters can be carried out, including: afforestation number, afforestation area, single tree height, single tree crown width, afforestation canopy density and other information, so as to improve objective and true investigation data for afforestation results investigation.
